Controller raid Adaptec 2400a

I have a controller raid Adaptec 2400a. I tryed to install RH 9.A and 9 with 
"linux dd" at boot, but install stopped after pci scan; with RH 8.0.A, 
instead, install stopped during drivers loading process.
Any ideas? Thank you.
