enable your "Virus Scanners" and "Spam Check" in /etc/MailScanner/MailScanner.conf

eg.
$ grep "Spam Check\|Virus Scanners" /etc/MailScanner/MailScanner.conf
# then set "Virus Scanners = none" instead.
# Virus Scanners = sophos f-prot mcafee
Virus Scanners = sophos
Spam Checks = yes

should be
Virus Scanners = f-prot clamav
Use SpamAssassin = yes

your combination should work without problems

MailScanner-installation/minimal_configuration ~5 minutes
