I think it's not distribution's problem.
Just download the kernel 2.6.0 tarball, put it in /usr/src,
extract it, then make mrproper --> make menuconfig --> make rpm.
Check your configuration carefully at the "make menuconfig" period.
You may want to take the README file in linux-2.6.0 directory as a
reference.
