i have fc1 running on my inspirion 5150 right now without a problem.
since the laptop does not have a floppy drive, it's not surprising the
module can't be loaded... about the other problems, i don't know since i
just ignored it and it works fine.

(Red screen of death?!). I have to use the power-button to put it out of it's misery. Then suddenly this problem is gone after a few reboots (could be that i pressed "i", and that this resolved it, but i'm not sure)
