The Login in screen is set at 1280 and then gnome(and kde for that
matter) go to 1024 after login and its loading.  The monitor type is
detected correctly as a viewsonic G90fb-2, and my vid card is detected
as a GeForce FX 5600(generic). 

Sorry for the confusion, I wasnt trying to imply that my installing
Mozilla and the resolution were connected, they arent...Sorry!
