Hi Chris,

I replied to Cristoph with my attempt at explaining this to some degree.
I believe that the objectives of both auditfs and inotify are actually
quite different and should not be implemented in terms of one another or
merged.  However, they do share some commonality in that they are both
interested in receiving event notification from the file system.  In
this light, I do believe that having some generic hooking framework that
inotify, auditfs, and whatever else comes in the future can use to
mitigate duplicating code and function while not compromising objective.
