FTP vs HTTPD File Serving Redux

I have answered my own question to some extent.

FTP SEEMS more efficient, particularly if someone cancels a download.
The biggest difference is in the quality of information that is logged.
I have a much better idea of what is downloaded successfully by whom and
the speed performance.

BTW, if anyone has tried to download kernel source or optimized
packages; We thought that our upload speed was considerably higher than
it is. I should almost quadruple - hopefully - by the end of business
today.
