I'm not sure if support for AHCI controller made its way into the libata yet.


Things to try:

Do you have RAID options enabled in BIOS. If yes, disable them and retry installation. AHCI doesn't really have RAID anyhow, it's just a fake.

If AHCI is not yet supported by libata, try setting it to emulate old (parallel) IDE controller in BIOS. This always works.
