GNOME - mount CD/DVD to fixed point

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hello all,

is possible in GNOME 2.30/2.32 (on actual F13/F14) for some users mount
CD/DVD media not to "/media/VolName/", but to fixed mountpoint - e.g.
media pushed to /dev/sr0 mount to /media/cd0 or to ~/Desktop/CD0 e.t.c.?
Or mount as currently GNOME does, but in adition automatically create
fixed symlink to created mountpoint (and remove it after is media unmounted].

I know "autofs" automounter can mount CD/DVD to fixed point, but this
likely isn't user-aware and it would have do with any custom scripting. Or
this task can be probably solved by watching /media directory using
incrond or inotify-tools and custom scripts - but solution directly in
GNOME would be cleaner.

Thanks in advance, Franta Hanzlik
