Ok, I understand that if the places.sqlite file gets trashed you can't
see any bookmarks in firefox. However:
1. I have looked at places.sqlite using squlite3 and I can't find
anything that looks like my bookmarks.
2. I have begun to add bookmarks to firefox again.Does firefox see that
the places.sqlite is fouled up and some recreate it again with the new
bookmarks.

I am trying to get a handle on how this bookmark system works so I
appreciate any clarification anyone can give me
