Why not just start out mounting it in /etc/fstab with the owner and group 
(e.g. UID and GID) that you want?

Also, check out the
$ blkid
command to mount it with the UUID rather than a partition number that might 
change.

I do not recommend the fstab GUI that's available, because it strips out all 
the comment lines.  :-(
