I see no gui util support for the 9840cdw :(
That's what  I meant by lack of support for Linux.
In fact when cups is configured for a MFC-9840CDW,
it automatically installs the driver.
I have asked them maney months ago for a
GUI app for Linux, similar to what they provide
for windows - to no avail.
