Hey my friend probably you need to connect to a Linux server via shell, 
and that is a problem in windows machine so you have to use. Putty, but 
here in windows, you don't need Putty for that purpose since TERMINAL is 
here for you.
How to :
- Open Terminal from "Applications > System Tools > Terminal"
- Type in following command:
#ssh <system-ip> -l <username>
where
system-ip : The ip of the linux machine you want to connect to.
username : The account using which you will login to the machine.

I hope this helps you out.
