It's strange that smartd says a disk has PASSED at the same time that it says it has an error. And it seems to give no hint of where the bad sector is. > In general, if the drive failed to relocate a bad sector (or slowly > running out of space to relocate sectors to) it should be replaced ASAP. > If the disk is under warranty, back it up and RMA it. I am replacing the disk, or at least adding a new disk as replacement. Unfortunately I think the disk is just out of warranty. -- Timothy Murphy e-mail: gayleard /at/ eircom.net tel: +353-86-2336090, +353-1-2842366 s-mail: School of Mathematics, Trinity College, Dublin 2, Ireland -- users mailing list users@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx To unsubscribe or change subscription options: https://admin.fedoraproject.org/mailman/listinfo/users Guidelines: http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Mailing_list_guidelines
