Is there a PC with extra SATA port you can connect it to?

Today, a pcmcia card with 2 SATA ports is very inexpensive.

If your slot is a pci-express slot, then

Dual esata ports pci-express card: $16.15

Even if the drive proves to be dead, it could very well be still under
warranty.
Who is the manufacturer?
