Not that I'd really expect drive repair tools to be much use at repairing an encrypted drive, whether using LVM or not. :-\ But lack of them was an issue about using LVM, in the ordinary way. I'm still scratching my head as to whether I can do an upgrade installation onto an encrypted drive.
