If I read all of the release info for F11, 12, and 13, you *must* move from F10 to F11, you cannot go directly to F12 or F13. I tried with pre-upgrade, and it failed masking the real error (which was that upgrading to F13 was not possible from F10) and instead returning an error saying that the previous installation could not be found. And that was *after* downloading a boat-load of F13 packages for installation. That leaves nothing to do with that install except either abort or install F13. Instead, I fought pre-upgrade, hand editted the grub entry to find my old installation correctly, and eventually was able to use it to upgrade to F11. The problem was that I thought I had fooled it into upgrading to F13 anyways. I had just finished downloading *all* of the necessary F13 packages, but when the upgrade continued, it instead found a mix of F11, F12, F13, and F14 packages to install for me (OK, the F14 stuff came from rpmfusion and atrpms rawhide repos), but the fedora-release file that got installed for me was from F11. I spent a lot of time cleaning up the F11 upgrade and I'm still not back to where everything I had working in F10 is working in F11, even after removing all the F12, F13, and F14 packages. MySQL isn't able to upgrade my F10 databases, and that leaves MythTV broken (my best bet is to wipe the old databases and install from scratch again). Pre-upgrade now fails for F12 and F13 upgrades claiming something about a missing datatype "primary". But, I could still try upgrading to rawhide. > thanks for any pointers. Look closely at your debug messages in the consoles during your attempted upgrade. I'm betting you might find the same error I did that says you can't upgrade to F13 from F10.... I reported this to the fedora-testing list as F13 went BETA. No one there seemed interested because F10 is no longer supported. > gene/ -- Kevin J.
