*I have still mysql issue*:
The MySQL server error log file '/home/maumar/.local/share/akonadi/db_data/mysql.err' contains errors:
100313 10:47:21 [Note] Plugin 'ndbcluster' is disabled.
100313 10:47:21 InnoDB: Started; log sequence number 0 1221486
100313 10:47:22 [Warning] Can't open and lock time zone table: Table 'mysql.time_zone_leap_second' doesn't exist trying to live without them
100313 10:47:22 [ERROR] Can't open and lock privilege tables: Table 'mysql.servers' doesn't exist
100313 10:47:22 [Note] /usr/libexec/mysqld: ready for connections.

I read:
http://userbase.kde.org/Akonadi
to get rid of it

[quote]
Table 'mysql. servers' doesn't exist
If MySQL server log contains the following error:
[ERROR] Can't open and lock privilege tables: Table 'mysql.servers' doesn't exist
[ERROR] Cannot open mysql.db
[ERROR] Cannot open mysql.user
[ERROR] Cannot open mysql.event
then, most probably, you don't have your MySQL configuration file in place. Copy it from /usr/share/config/akonadi/mysql-global.conf into ~/.config/akonadi/mysql-local.conf. (For debian and openSuSE users the file ist
located in /etc/akonadi/mysql-global.conf). Then open it and uncomment the line sql_mode=strict_trans_tables.
[/quote]

*I searched for mysql-local.conf*

[ maumar@matanui: ~ ] $ find /usr/share/ -name mysql-local.conf
[ maumar@matanui: ~ ] $ find -name mysql-local.conf
[ maumar@matanui: ~ ] $ ls -la /etc/akonadi/
total 28
drwxr-xr-x. 2 root root 4096 2010-02-25 16:52 .
drwxr-xr-x. 153 root root 12288 2010-03-13 10:44 ..
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 2032 2010-02-09 01:00 mysql-global.conf
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 0 2010-02-09 01:00 mysql-local.conf

so, i have mysql-local.conf into /etc/akonadi/ but is empty
how can i populate it?

for completeness of information i report you ~/.config/akonadi/ content:

ls -la ~/.config/akonadi/
total 40
drwxr-xr-x 2 maumar maumar 4096 2010-03-13 10:47 .
drwxr-xr-x 13 maumar maumar 4096 2009-06-16 08:52 ..
-rw-rw-r-- 1 maumar maumar 66 2010-03-13 10:47 agent_config_akonadi_ical_resource_4
-rw-rw-r-- 1 maumar maumar 615 2010-03-13 10:47 agent_config_akonadi_maildir_resource_0
-rw-rw-r-- 1 maumar maumar 52 2010-03-13 10:47 agent_config_akonadi_maildispatcher_agent
-rw-rw-r-- 1 maumar maumar 53 2010-03-13 10:48 agent_config_akonadi_nepomuk_contact_feeder
-rw-rw-r-- 1 maumar maumar 373 2010-03-13 10:47 agent_config_akonadi_vcard_resource_1
-rw-r--r-- 1 maumar maumar 1076 2010-02-26 08:20 agentsrc
-rw-rw-r-- 1 maumar maumar 178 2010-03-13 10:47 akonadiconnectionrc
-rw-r--r-- 1 maumar maumar 257 2010-03-13 10:47 akonadiserverrc

As result, akonadi is not starting at boot; i note that i haven't any akonadi into /etc/init.d/*
root@matanui: /etc/init.d # grep akoi /etc/init.d/*
is empty, how does akonadi get started?

more, XDG_DATA_DIRS is corectly configured (hopefully)

# grep XDG_DATA_DIRS /etc/profile
XDG_DATA_DIRS='/usr/share/akonadi/agents'
export PATH USER LOGNAME MAIL HOSTNAME HISTSIZE INPUTRC XDG_DATA_DIRS

and:

 maumar@matanui: ~ ] $ env|grep XDG_DATA_DIRS
XDG_DATA_DIRS=/usr/share/akonadi/agents
[ maumar@matanui: ~ ] $ ls -la /usr/share/akonadi/agents
