no you're not... you're root - see the pwd that says root? see the

putting 'sudo' into commands when you are already root is meaningless
and a waste of 4 letters and a space.

At least I got the information on the repositories ;-) . As it seams,
the adobe repository isn't yet properly installed. Here again what
happens if I follow your instructions:

[root@sangam simon]# su - -c 'rpm -ivh
http://linuxdownload.adobe.com/adobe-release/adobe-release-i386-1.0-1.noarch.rpm'
Retrieving
http://linuxdownload.adobe.com/adobe-release/adobe-release-i386-1.0-1.noarch.rpm
Preparing... ###########################################
[100%]
      package adobe-release-i386-1.0-1.noarch is already installed
[root@sangam simon]# su - -c 'rpm --import
/etc/pki/rpm-gpg/RPM-GPG-KEY-adobe-linux'
error: /etc/pki/rpm-gpg/RPM-GPG-KEY-adobe-linux: import failed.
[root@sangam simon]#

Does this help?
----
sort of doesn't make sense but try this (as root)...

rpm -e adobe-release-i386

rpm -ivh \
http://linuxdownload.adobe.com/adobe-release/adobe-release-i386-1.0-1.noarch.rpm

rpm --import /etc/pki/rpm-gpg/RPM-GPG-KEY-adobe-linux

3 commands...the middle 1 is 2 lines but one command... let us know what
happens

Craig

Bad news:

[root@sangam simon]# rpm -e adobe-release-i386
warning: /etc/yum.repos.d/adobe-linux-i386.repo saved as /etc/yum.repos.d/adobe-linux-i386.repo.rpmsave [root@sangam simon]# rpm -ivh http://linuxdownload.adobe.com/adobe-release/adobe-release-i386-1.0-1.noarch.rpm Retrieving http://linuxdownload.adobe.com/adobe-release/adobe-release-i386-1.0-1.noarch.rpm Preparing... ########################################### [100%] 1:adobe-release-i386 ########################################### [100%] [root@sangam simon]# rpm --import /etc/pki/rpm-gpg/RPM-GPG-KEY-adobe-linux

Well, I have it now, my flash plugin. I did do it the ugly way: I just downloaded it from adobe's webpage...

Many thanks for all your help, particularly Craig White. I guess I'm going to buy me a good book on Fedora soon. Although there are some difficulties, I still have a slight preference to it over Ubuntu...
