Yes you can. No need to extract the image to a directory.

You do need a boot CD or USB stick to start the install though.

it boils down to (1) configure NFS server, (2) export the dir
containing the ISO, (3) choose
NFS install when you prompted.

can do an eSearch (TM) for more ideas.
