Hi all,

First of all I want to say a huge thank you for your messages. As I do
not understand sometimes very well what are you talking about, I'm going
to give you some basic information that I understand.

The network I'm using is in a research institute, so I'm not on the
control of the network connection, and the machines aren't directly
connected by a cable. I can ping to other machines and connect to other
sites, the problem is when I ping from one to the other, as I said in my
first message.

[german@centauri ~]$ ping localhost
PING centauri.das.inpe.br (127.0.0.1) 56(84) bytes of data.
64 bytes from centauri.das.inpe.br (127.0.0.1): icmp_seq=1 ttl=64
time=0.038 ms
64 bytes from centauri.das.inpe.br (127.0.0.1): icmp_seq=2 ttl=64
time=0.042 ms
64 bytes from centauri.das.inpe.br (127.0.0.1): icmp_seq=3 ttl=64
time=0.043 ms

rtt min/avg/max/mdev = 0.038/0.041/0.043/0.002 ms

The same result is obtained when I ping localhost in the other machine
(the notebook). The network is operacional on both machines.

The firewall is configured as it was when I upgraded to Fedora 11 in
both machines, I haven't modified anything.

NEW tcp dpt:22
