$ sudo ifconfig | grep UP
          UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST  MTU:1500  Metric:1
          UP LOOPBACK RUNNING  MTU:16436  Metric:1

$ sudo iptables -L | grep ssh
ACCEPT     tcp  --  anywhere             anywhere            state NEW tcp dpt:ssh 

$ sudo service sshd status
openssh-daemon (pid  1554) is running...

# From notebook:

$ sudo ifconfig | grep UP
          UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST  MTU:1500  Metric:1
