  I see the same behaviour here if I did NOT uncheck the 2 above
buttons. In this case the whole thing is almost unuseable - and the
definition of idle seems to be:

  If (idle_time > 60 seconds)
      dim_screen();
  else if (annoy_user_time > 60 seconds)
  {
      dim_screen();
      reset_annoy_user_timer();
  }
