Yea, looks like I need to pick up 1.20.4-19. I guess
it didn't make it into the DVD image (either that
or add the no dbus fix).
Well, I'm using that version... and I'm still having no luck.
ypbind on the server machine works fine; but on the client it fails with
this in /var/log/messages:
Jun 19 02:13:03 stile ypbind: NIS server for domain ENDOFRAME is not responding.
/etc/sysconfig/network has:
NISDOMAIN=ENDOFRAME
and /etc/yp.conf has:
domain ENDOFRAME server hinge.endoframe.net
It worked for me using network (rather than NetworkManager) and setting
One thing I did notice is that using system-config-network and setting the DNS
servers in the card section (as well as the DNS tab), removes the search line in
the resolv.conf file (which was specified in the DNS section).
So the /etc/yp.conf server line either needs the full domain name, an IP address
or a correct search line in the resolv.conf.
Leaving the card specific DNS lines in sys-config-network was the easiest.
