I'm seeing the same with my P5Q-E on board sound, and the on board sound
on my HP nx7400 laptop (I don't have the sound card specs for that one).

Rather annoying, it is!


Can you run

/usr/bin/alsa-info.sh --no-upload

and post the result here?

You need to have alsa-utils installed.
