On that sense, you can enable KDM by changing the DISPLAYMANAGER and DESKTOP 
variables as follows:

/etc/sysconfig/desktop (create this file if it's not already present) and this 
file should contain:

DESKTOP=GNOME
DISPLAYMANAGER=KDE

note that DISPLAYMANAGER is KDE, not KDM!

and if it doesn't work, check to see if you have kdm installed (it should 
probably be in /usr/bin or some other /bin)
