Since the base for Yellow Dog Linux was Fedora, Fedora thus benefitted by incorporating it and it is a great tool to have :) The NSA sponsors selinux if I am not mistaken, and other companies like Apple which bought out CUPS now sponsors it and the communities(open source) benefit from the this :) Some people also buy Fedora CD's/DVD's from online vendors and some of those vendors might?/might not give back money to Fedora Project. The list goes on and on.
