Flash never showed up as a registered plugin in Firefox, and there was absolutely no feedback whatsoever, regarding what the problem might be.Do you have libflashsupport installed? Note that on 64-bit systems you need both the i386 and x86_64 versions. (BTW, this has to be one of the most frequenty asked questions on this list).
That might be the reason. I do not have any 32 bit stuff installed, and have "exclude=*.i386 *.i586 *.i686" in yumconf. Installing any 32 bit stuff adds so much bloat, that it's just not worth it.
