Does anyone know if Fedora 9's kernel disabled that change
or will we have to wait until ATI works around the new
limitations on compiling their non-GPL drivers under the 2.6.25 kernel?

I files a bug against fglrx at livna when their package didn't build for me on F9 Preview on x86_64, and the answer was that we had to wait for ATI to release a fix for the 2.6.25 kernel series.
