Has anyone run into this problem or know of a way to fix it?
Which version of the vmware-any-any package did you install?
I have not installed the any-any patch. Which version should I install?
Then that's almost definitely the problem. You need to install the
latest version. Google for "vmware any any".
The latest I could find was 115. But, it wasn't sufficient (its dated
28-Nov-2007!). There are patches available for 4 files that allow
enough of VMWare to build to allow me to run my client under F9 on my
x86_64 laptop. I got them from the VMWare discussion site. Look for a
thread about building VMWare on the 2.6.25 kernel. After running the
built VMWare, it complains about my VMWare-tools being out of date. I'm
not sure yet where to get an updated VMWare-tools.
