i have had re-spins bookmarked and will use later. for now, i feel more
comfortable staying with f8 and updating to get my head back into red hat
level.

i am always slow to pick up new releases as they seem to needing bug fixes
from before their release. one of many hazards with and software, tho not
as bad when written in pure assembler.
