It reminds me of a George Bernard Shaw quote:

"The reasonable man adapts himself to the world; the unreasonable one
persists in trying to adapt the world to himself.  Therefore, all
progress depends on the unreasonable man."

If no one insisted on getting things upstreamed (modules, patches,
etc), the upstream projects would not be as good as they are today.
Fedora's upstream mantra is a damn good thing IMO.
