I'm googling like a wild man to find it! :) Ric ---- xset -q seems pretty normal to me (considering that you don't show font paths for any user sessions). could not open default font "fixed" sounds like a problem that occurs because Fedora moved the X11 font paths a few distributions ago and I think I fixed that with a symbolic link.
