Ah, but you can get a lot worse resolution with an LCD if, like me,
you are using a 42 inch HDTV monitor (mine works out to 52 DPI if
you do the calculation, which some X programs slavishly do, then try
to display fonts that are about 3 pixels high :-).

I lie to it and tell it to use 96 DPI, and things look pretty good
at the distance I normally sit from it.
