While the old kernel would boot just fine the new kernel install based on the last bootable kernel's "template" would not parse.... This is the zillionsth time for me where the disk partition tool was happy to assign a LABEL= name that was not unique. I would love to have the disk partition tool offer or allow a 'uniqprefix' for all the partitions.
