Yes, there's a few ways of checking, try dmidecode. Also lm_sensors has
some support for telling you about your memory through the eeprom
modules if I remember right.
ocsinventory-ng has a nifty cross-platform inventory reporting agent
that will keep that and a lot more updated in a database for you. They
are just releasing a new version:
