If you look at bugzilla
<https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=434574> you'll see that
there seems to be an issue with Scalar::Util. The last comment there
describes it.
I take it you're not having this problem?
I'm running it on CentOS5 and FC6 machines - and I probably did a CPAN
install of Compress::Zlib and a few other modules so I don't really know
if the packaged one works there either.
