I put an ATI video card into this computer to substitute for the on-board Intel video and somehow the problem magically went away. This computer runs at full speed now without any "mem=" parameter, and as a bonus I get a lot more available memory: [frankcox@mutt temp]$ free total used free shared buffers cached Mem: 3994784 3805124 189660 0 49524 3118824 -/+ buffers/cache: 636776 3358008 Swap: 2031608 60 2031548 I recovered 637mb of ram over what I had available when using the on-board Intel video. -- MELVILLE THEATRE ~ Melville Sask ~ http://www.melvilletheatre.com
