Is there a secret to getting the nVidia stuff to work?
As I mentioned earlier today, I just set up my new ATI video card
using the
rpms from livna. All I had to do was install the driver and log out
and log
back in; from there everything just worked. (I would have preferred
to avoid
the proprietary driver, but I couldn't figure out how to get the
vesa driver to
provide the proper resolution for my wide-screen monitor.)
Livna also offers rpms for Nvidia, so you might have better luck if
you try
installing it that way.
Thanks... I just tried the livna rpms; same problem, "no screen found."
Have you tried running the nvidia configuration utility
"nvidia-xconfig" to create an xorg.conf?
are you sure your bargain buy is working properly?
