Yes.. yes. So instead of actually trying to find out what went wrong and how 
we could replicate the problem (because something somewhere borked). Lets 
bitch about it shrug our shoulders and say 'works for me'. Comical.

I am willing to try and replicate the issue, and provide as much info as I 
possibly can.

$ rpm -e --test fftw
error: Failed dependencies:
        libfftw3.so.3 is needed by (installed) libofa-0.9.3-10.fc8.i386
[scott@kimbo ~]$ rpm -e --test libofa
error: Failed dependencies:
        libofa.so.0 is needed by (installed) libtunepimp-0.5.3-9.fc8.i386
[scott@kimbo ~]$ rpm -e --test libtunepimp
error: Failed dependencies:
        libtunepimp.so.5 is needed by (installed) amarok-1.4.8-1.fc8.i386

I can see that from the above the dependency checking works so the problem 
does indeed lie elsewhere.

Thanks for your help, I hope that I didn't take up too many cpu cycles...
