The command above results in:
 0 [CS4236B        ]: CS4236B - CS4236B
                     CS4236B at 0x534, irq 5, dma 1&3
Whic I think is a problem because it is Card 0 that is being looked for.
But I don't know what to do about it,

you can try adding

options snd-cs4236 dma1=1 dma2=3 io=0x0534 irq=5

to your /etc/modprobe.conf and rebooting (of course, if this is the module you are using).
