This is unlikely. You are probably selecting some other packages which require GNOME as a dependency. If you prefer KDE, I would recommend that you use the KDE spin (installable Live image) of Fedora.

That's probably the most likely scenario.
There are many applications that are gnome-native and at the very least require gnome libraries to be installed. Think anything that begins with "g", e.g. GIMP (which stands for Gnome Image Manipulation Program).
