I had not expected that this would cause a permanent damage to the system.Thank God I am able to boot my old FC5 system but my two F7 systems are now inaccessible.Please help! If I have to reinstall the systems (which I hope I can) it will set me back several weeks :-(
You also have the option when you have the Grub menu to enter your own Grub commands, and boot the F7 system. This requires more knowledge of your system, because you end up entering the commands that make up the menu entry. If you did put the map commands in the global section, you should be able to add the map commands to your F7 menu entry and boot the system so you can fix it.
