Note that no upstream (kde) developer has yet had any feedback on this
patch, so while it may be tempting to just blindly apply this, we (fedora)
has, until recently, been blocking on that (and not ignoring this problem).

That said, we have received some positive feedback recently  from folks
already who have been using the referenced patch, and it would appear that
it is a winner, and the patch has been incorporated,

- fix kded crash on logout (#426459)

and will be included in the next updates candidate released (not sure
exactly when that will be, there's a couple other issues we're also
tracking down atm, but soon).
