Funny thing is, I have lived through Gandhi's time, and more or less followed
what he was doing cuz even then I thought it was right. But I don't recall
seeing that as being attributed to him until sigs on emails got popular, 8 or
10 years ago. Does anyone know when he said it?

Be aware, very aware, when Redmond gets interested. They can teach the CIA
tricks. Humm, on second thought, with the CIA's track record recently, maybe
they should.

A while ago there was a virtualization discussion going on here and
several products were listed, one of which was VirtualBox. I have both
VMWare and VirtualBox working, the former with a 6GB file and VirtualBox
pointing to my XP partition. VirtualBox is still very full featured but
not quite a tweakble as VMWare but seems to run a little faster. They're
both good products.

Even though they are both "free" I don't like having to mess with a
serial # for VMWare, also the setup for VirtualBox is simpler, although
both require you to compile a kernel module. (At least for Fedora, you
can probably get prebuilt modules for RHEL/CentOS).

I know - I am at a loss. I saw where the OP re-installed the cups
rpm, so I don't know why the script is missing. I was hoping you
would have some ideas.

Well, what they got was the traditional breast enhancing pose for a
photographer. Suggestive, but not salicious... Still, given the
viewing environment, it wasn't appropriate. Though they tend to be
pragmatic about such things.

It's a fair bet that he would. But it did put him in a position where
he was unable to argue back. Yes, I can come up with various
justifications for pirating, and I've heard a plethora of them before.
But when your arguing with students, you need a position that they can't
negate. ;-)

I'm not a religious person, I can agree with a lot of the sentiment on
philosophical grounds, though. But not fundamentalism, and I include
computer fanaticsm in that, too. Nothing's just black and white.

You can certainly reject certain messages as being unwanted.

I was thinking just the other day that I would have had replies to
digests outright banned if the subject line wasn't changed and the
message was a full quote reply. Bouncing it back with a rejection
notice saying what was required for a post to be accepted.

I'd be tempted to go further. Any "replies" lacking the in-reply-to and
references headers to be rejected, too, for stuffing up threading.

That would be harder than Windows sharing with Linux, at least we can
make Linux do what we want it to. Windows philosophy is that it won't
let you customise things exactly how you want it, you have to fit in
with how it wants to do things.

I've broken that rule before, but I can't remember which version of
Windows.

Of course. User mapping would have to be manual, or at least tweaked
after an automatic audit. As you say, you might have two different Tims
on a system, or differing usernames on the two OSs.
