Actually, even though I turned it off I can see advantages to pulseaudio - for instance I use freenx to connect to systems at work, and it is probably possible (though I've never had enough use for it to figure it out) to get the audio as well as the screen contents back to my remote location. Selinux also has an advantage - it allows you to check the box on government contracts that says your operating system has enhanced security (other than that, it is of no value whatsoever :-).
