this may be irrelevant but in f7 I get:
[root@cyrus ~]# chkconfig --list |grep wpa
wpa_supplicant  0:off   1:off   2:off   3:off   4:off   5:off   6:off
8.
I use NM which runs wpa_supplicant. How does that compare with
what you are trying to do in f8?
