F8 - Failure to install on a Compaq Pesario Laptop

Everyone,

I am trying to install F8 on a Compaq Pesario Laptop that has F6 on it.
The 386 DVD hangs after picking a 'new install' at :
running /sbin/loader 

I tried to do a network install with the rescue disk and it hangs at the
very same label
running /sbin/loader

Any ideas?
