what means the find warning about "non-option argument"?

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

  i've never noticed this before:

$ find <dir> -type d -maxdepth 1
find: warning: you have specified the -maxdepth option after a
non-option argument -type, but options are not positional (-maxdepth
affects tests specified before it as well as those specified after
it). Please specify options before other arguments.
...

   ???. i've read that a couple times and i'm still not sure what
it's complaining about.
