I want to change the default font in emacs, but I haven't succeeded yet. If I pull down the Options menu and select Set font/fontset, select the fontset I want, then select Save options, I get a custom-set-faces stanza in ~/.emacs, but it's empty except for comments. If I set emacs.font in ~/.Xdefaults (as the emacs manual suggests), that has no effect. ISTR that there is some other file for setting X defaults in Fedora/GNOME, but I can't recall what it is. TIA.
I do this two different ways, the first is from the command line: emacs -fn font='-b&h-lucidatypewriter-medium-r-normal-sans-10-100-75-75-m-60-iso8859-1' I have this aliased to gmacs. Or after opening up emacs I hold the shift and right click. This brings up the Font Menu. -- Linux Home Automation Neil Cherry ncherry@xxxxxxxxxxx http://www.linuxha.com/ Main site http://linuxha.blogspot.com/ My HA Blog Author of: Linux Smart Homes For Dummies
